Bill's company has had a running theme since he started there last year: Las Vegas. It was part of an employee incentive program where there was a point system and the prize was a trip to Vegas. And due to a few company structure changes, it kept gettting put off. But this summer, they reinstated the program. Bill had won it before and he was sure that he would win it again. Although I didn't want to plan anything until it was official.
1. Bill won a 2-night trip to Las Vegas and was allowed one guest (me.)
2. I started making plans.
A. Bill definately wanted to visit his BFF, Neil, that still lives in Las Vegas.
B. My mom had given me some money to "do something special" for our anniversary.
C. We both wanted to see the Hoover Dam.
A + C = we needed to rent a car for a day. + B = a nice one!
3. I found the Dream Cars website--they specialize in renting things like Ferraris in Las Vegas. But since we planned so late, all that was still available was either way too expensive or not really that cool.
4. Lets just get a convertible then, it's not super luxurious but it's still fun, right? Bill preferred to get a Chrystler Sebring rather than a Ford Mustang. "It's roomier."
5. Yeah. All of the car rental websites said "Ford Mustang or similar" except one that had a Sebring--but it was so much more expensive.
6. We agreed that a Mustang convertible was still more fun than an Aveo.
7. Turns out the Dream Cars company had the lowest price for a Mustang convertible for one day.
8. We booked it.
9. We get to Las Vegas and take a taxi to the car rental place.
10. They give us this:
Yeaah!
