Everything to be said for the dynamic social scene here in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex.
And for the past few weekends, weeknights, I've had no end of things to keep me involved and out of the house. Several Baseball games. Eating out. Movies. A road trip to Oklahoma. A jazz concert on the art museum's lawn downtown. And this weekend, we tossed around the idea of camping.
But after a day at work filled with text messages, and a lunch break spent on the phone trying to get all of the details straight...at the last minute i backed out.
Angie went camping last night. Andrea went out to dinner and a movie.
I stayed home. I took a long, hot shower. Blow-dried my hair. And stayed in my bathrobe. I watched Almost Famous--which I'd never seen before and had gotten from Netflix. And when that was over, I turned off the tv and read. It was so quiet that I could hear my cell phone's text message alert from out in the kitchen.
This morning was much the same. I got up when the sun began to stream in through my bedroom window. No alarms. I went out into the living room and read some more..
Now everyone is back and there is music, and descriptions of last night's dinner, and washing machines running. But..everything to be said for some much-needed alone time.
11:00. Time for Saved by the Bell.
