writing about Tuesday

Sometimes during the day I'll store up ideas for blogs to write. In my mind. Where they inevitably get lost. Kind of like those grocery lists that i keep in my mind, too. And then when I get to the store, I either buy everything or nothing at all.

It's been eventful, and believe me, I had things to write about.

(Wait for it)

Like on Tuesday when I had the brilliant idea to go to Central Market. I asked Angie if she wanted to go to, and we decided to meet at the Central Market in Plano, since that was closer to where she works than the Southlake store that isn't close to anything but is probably equally far from where I work. We had a lovely time. We ate gelato. It was splendid. (They had BLOODORANGE-flavored gelato!! So good!)

And it was when I was halfway home that Angie called to say that her car had broken down, and she'd pulled to the shoulder of the road. And as I looked at the rush hour traffic crawling along on the other side of the George Bush Turnpike, I asked if she needed me to turn around and go get her. But she said she was going to call Kwik Car and see if they had any suggestions for her. So I kept going home. Until she called again as I was turning onto our street, and said that Kwik Kar said it must be her transmission, she might just need some transmission fluid. I was just passing the Kwik Kar so I went to go get some for her. The store was closed but when I knocked on the glass and explained I was the roommate of the girl on the phone. They understood.

And that is how I ended up with a somewhat drunken Kwik Kar man annoying the hell out of me in my car as I crawled down the George Bush Turnpike.

And back again an hour and a half later, the second time with Angie and leading the way for a tow truck. Turns out the Kwik Kar man was absolutely useless, very insistent and had a strong Texan accent. I could've left him on the side of the road with no remorse.

This is also the night that Andrea moved into her new apartment with her new roommate. Leaving a lot more open space in the apartment, especially in my bedroom. Space that we were very excited to vacuum.
