the new year, the new machine, the laundry resolutions

Holey moley, we bought a washing machine! The one we inherited from Robert & Tamara has done us well since our marriage, but recently started dumping water all over the floor during the rinse cycles. Which made me kinda scared to do laundry. Which...can't go on for very long. So, we did some research on the Texas Appliance Rebate going on now. And we researched some high efficiency machines. Did some shopping around after Christmas and--if the rebate thing comes through like it promised!--we feel we got a pretty good deal on this cutie little Samsung.

We also used a gift card to Bed, Bath & Beyond from my Aunt Debbie to buy a new laundry sorter--this way, there's no reason for ANYONE's clothes to touch the bedroom floor. Ever.

And with a high-efficiency washer we can easily afford to do more loads. Which means, if you wore it, it goes in the laundry sorter. No need to drape it over a chair or a ledge to be sniffed at later. (gross! you're not supposed to admit that!)

So there you go, positive steps towards a better laundry system in 2011. It's going to be an exciting year!
