Our Super-Duper Bowl

You all know that I'm not the biggest sports person.

And the Superbowl? I'll watch the commercials, thanks.

Or that's what I thought would happen when we invited a few of our friends over to watch the big game. Mostly for Bill's sake. Not that he's a big sports guy, either. But he intended to watch it and I can understand that something like this is more fun to watch with someone that is not curled up asleep or re-reading The Hobbit.

But after setting out some snacks, I was watching some of the pre-game shows while we waited for our friends to show up. And I saw that Harrison Ford is here! Jennifer Aniston is here! Owen Wilson is here!

And by "here" I mean Cowboys Stadium--the same Cowboys Stadium that I have to drive past to get to Chick-fil-a on my lunch break. And the Omni Hotel where the Green Bay Packers are staying? I drive past that on my commute from the CPA office. I'm a block away!

I'm not sure that I've ever been in such close proximity to so many celebrities.

All of these famous people, and thousands of regular people all over the country, are seeing My Home! I grew up here. I live here. I work here. My family's here.

This is so cool!

So, America, I am personally so mortified that the weather was awful, and that people's flights were delayed and cancelled. I'm so sorry that some people were refused the seats that they had bought tickets for. I am disappointed that some of the performances didn't work out so great, and the sound mixing was not great either.

But, I hope that for the most part, those of you that tuned in to watch the Superbowl, or who travelled out here to Dallas, I hope you thought it was alright. I hope you had a good time.

Hugh Jackman did.
