This chair is killing me.

Well, it's time for my annual stint at the CPA office. Woot. For those of you that don't know, I normally do payroll for a small trucking company. The man who owns the trucking company happens to be a CPA. Bada-bing, I get to be their seasonal tax-time helper!

This year, I've been called to duty about a month early. Not that I mind--I could use a break from my job!

And when I arrived, my desk was all set up for me. I basically work in a back corner of the office, where the files are. (So glamorous, my life.) And my desk is a split-level. Two perpendicular desks meet up at the corner, and one is about 2.5" higher than the other. So my computer, keyboard and mouse were on the higher level, and my workspace on the lower level, with my chair in the corner where they meet.

No big deal until Tuesday afternoon when I felt like some geriatric that had thrown out her back. I was having trouble sitting, standing, reaching and bending. It really hurt! And I blamed my chair, because my other chair is "ergonomic" and this one is not.

Then when I went home, I told Bill all about it. And he taught me about proper office posture. He suspected the problem was not with my cushy chair, but the fact that I'd been sitting with my right arm raised 2.5" more than my left arm and my neck straining to look up at my monitor. Hmm, good point.

So after some re-arranging, I can look at my monitor straight-on with my hips and shoulders level, and I am happy to report that I am feeling much, much better. Thanks for the tips, honey! Oh, and the back massage..

Wow. Yay for having such a smart husband. I am glad you are feeling better, that would have been miserable.
